Care To Blow $114,000 on a Pair of Diamond-studded Lederhosen?

Heard of a “lederhosen” anybody? They are traditional leather shorts, typically worn even today, by Austrian and German men on special occasions. Prepared from elk, goat, or pig hide for centuries, they can last a lifetime. Christian Wohlmuther, an Austrian designer, is creating a line of personalized luxury lederhosen worth a fortune!Wohlmuther, who owns a clothing business that sells traditional Austrian attire based in Bad Mitterndorf, sold his first diamond-studded pair for $114,000. Formed from the leather of a wild red deer, and decked with 166 diamonds set in gold, the trousers were bought by a German, living in Dubai. He expects to lure more customers from that region as well as from Russia.

Wohlmuther said that the cost of his creations depend on what they are made of. Working with a local jeweler in the styrian town of Liezen, he designs lederhosen with silver, gold or platinum buttons adorned with precious gems such as garnets, rubies, emeralds and diamonds.
With the kind of dough you spend on the lederhosen, the item is sure to last for not only a lifetime but generations to come!

Steve McQueen’s 1963 Ferrari Lusso

The pictured above could be the best buy for some racing enthusiast. At this year’s Christies Monterey Auction, a rare Ferrari Lusso will be up for sale. Boasting a non-Ferrari brown finish, the car was once property of actor/racer Steve McQueen. And yes, the color is named Marrone Metallizzato, which looks a bit farcical to me. McQueen ordered his wavy Ferrari 250 GT Lusso, one of 350 made, in a metallic chestnut with beige leather interior. The car was with him for four years until he picked up another special Ferrari to replace it. The seller of this rare car hopes to fetch $1 million easily. If the McQueen’s Ferrari is not your cup of tea, you can go for the 1930 Duesenberg J Convertible Berline ($700,000 - $850,000) or the stunning 1938 Bugatti Type 57 Three Position Drophead Coupe ($600,000 - $800,000).
