Apple MacBook Air Bejeweled!

As if the Apple MacBook Air was not hot enough, we now have Computer Choppers who have decided to bling the MacBook Air up, and blinged it up they certainly have by giving the MacBook Air a gold and sapphire treatment. The very special half Apple logo gets a set of sapphires that actually light up in rainbow colors that will surely make people literally snatch this ultra sleek notebook from your hands. The aluminum case too has received a 24 karat gold treatment to dazzle almost anyone who might want to take a look at this piece of pizzaz-kit. Specifications-wise the MacBook Air still retains a 1.6 Ghz processor, an 80 GB hard disk and runs a 2 GB RAM. To get your hands on one, you need to pay some serious money, $8000 to be precise, but then again, serious money for us is pocket change for those who will actually go out and buy this outrageous computing device.

Steampunk comes calling on computers

Nowadays, designers seem to be steampunking almost everything that they can lay their eyes and hands on. Now we have Steampunk modder Rich Nagy a.k.a Datamancer who has taken an LCD computer monitor and keyboard to give it a steampunk touch. Brass dominates this steampunk design and all of 22 inches of the LCD monitor sits on a nice brass frame that is a quarter inch thick. The drilled holes on the frame make it look very nice and retro. The ports for the mic and earphones lie on the LCD monitor’s side and Datamancer has given the entire kit a nice sanding and polishing to give you that shimmering shine.

Glitz up your wheels with gold !

If driving around town with gold glinting off your wheels is your cup of tea, you must take a look at these Volk Racing RE30 Wheels, which have been plated with 24K gold. Fit for the super-rich hip hop crowd, these wheels could transform staid and boring cars into something very BLING BLING. These 19 inch wheels break away from the normal and have a seven spoke design and Ben Schaffer of Bulletproof Automotive is the crazy auto-nut who created this outrageous pieces of bling-kit. And, if you too follow suit and get your alloys gold plated, you might want be a little cautious about parking your car out in the streets because we definitely think that the allure of all this gold will be a little too difficult to resist for all the small time crooks out there. In case, you love diamonds, better take a look at the $2 million diamond-studded Wheels.

800mph supersonic jet car for the fearless!

Here is a jet car that aims to bring the Land speed record right back to the Americans. To do that, Ted Shadle and Keith Zanghi have come together to create the North American Eagle jet car. For this, the duo and their team have taken a 42500 horsepower engine from a scrapped 1957 Lockheed F-104 Starfighter jet and have plonked it right into the North American Eagle’s rear. This, they hope, will give them enough thrust to break the magical 800mph barrier and reclaim the land speed record. The jet car uses aluminium wheels and binges on a whopping 160 gallons of fuel every minute. This translates to a cost of $18000 for every single run. Money apart, the Jet Car now has a new problem. It doesn’t have a pilot, er, driver to drive it along the Black Rock desert’s scorched surfaces to reclaim the record. For this, the team have advertised for good looking drivers between the ages of 20 and 40 to man this scorching machine.

Private jets now easy on the pocket

Will there be a plane in every garage? Yay! Cause these days, owning a personal jet may not be as out-of-reach as it used to be. The idea of having this personal mode of transportation is no longer for just the billionaires and world leaders. And I am not only talking about American or European folks. Even in an Asian country like Korea, the graph of number of people using private jets is soaring upwards at unbelievable speed. And with the new opportunity from Funsky, one wouldn’t need to shell out millions to own a jet. They have come up with this unique ‘fractional aircraft ownership’. You can now be a partial owner of planes like Eclipse 500 and Gulfstream G550. For 180 million won (about 185,000), you can get a lifetime membership for an aircraft. It is one-sixteenth share of an aircraft and for that much you can fly for 50 hours each year. And it’s but obvious that you will need to pay more shares to get more hours.

S3 laptop to go under the hammer

Apparently PS3 addict and mod-specialist Ben Heck was sick of being fired form every job he ever landed because most mornings he couldn’t find it in him to tear himself away from his fav PS titles and go earn his daily bread. So he decided it was a worthwhile idea to make something that will enable him to enjoy all his fav Playstation titles on the go. Thus the portable PS3 laptop was born. Encased in a slick, glossy black case, the mod crams an entire PlayStation setup in a cool, slightly thick laptop with a 17-inch LCD screen running at 720p resolution fueled by a Blu-Ray drive retrofitted to a front loading slot. Functioning with a built-in full USB keyboard, the laptop PS3 mod weighs a staggering 16-pound which actually defeats the whole portability”purpose of this thing, but it might not be such a bad thing to have it permanently seated under your office desk so you can enjoy all the goodness of the real thing during lunch hour and coffee breaks.
