Bernie Ecclestone's Mercedes-Benz fetches six million Euros

Some of the vintage cars that adorned the garage of big boss Bernie Ecclestone of Formula One went under the hammer lately. The auction was held by RM Auctions in cooperation with Sotheby’s. The focus of the auction was the famous Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster, 1937 that went for 6 million Euros. Another Mercedes SSK Roadster model of 1928 and the spectacular Ford GT40 of 1966, a model derived from road car that dominated Le Mans were auctioned for 1.5 million Euros each. A BMW 507 roadster went for 600 thousands Euros, a 1933 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Continental Faux Cabriolet was sold for £424,650, and a 1927 Delage 15-S-8 Grand Prix Car went under the hammer for £775,000. Many of the cars that entered the auction were sold for double the estimates of experts.
